Black and White, Faded and Torn
Song Lyrics
Fall Again - Seems in this world I'll always be bound, To love and the things it makes me do, I find myself head over heels and end up on
the ground, Fall so hard I just can't move, But I can't stop from stepping up for another shot at lady luck, When it comes to love I
seldom can refuse, Ch - They say a third time won't harm, As for me, it held no charm, So I stopped counting way back when, I just pick
myself up, drop my guard, and fall again; I know these choices of love that I make, Will someday lead me to you, And I know in my heart
I'll do what it takes, As I justify these willful things I do, Though sometimes blind and off the cuff, It can be unkind and awful rough, For
a chance to win at love you often lose, Ch, Ch.

On the Corner Square - I saw you, on the corner where we first met, We bumped into each other all cold and soaking wet, When
words were spoken, they sang in harmony, There was a new love, we both could see, You asked me for my number and we both smiled,
You said I'll call you, we'll go out after while, Through the candle light in a café down on main, Falling in love, is never the same, Ch -
Memories of those days in the sun, Lives beginning, hearts wild on the run, To think it was by chance, and unlikely pair, In the rain we
fell in love, on the corner square; The love that you gave me was a perfect gift, But our hearts became worn and started to drift, With
a gentle kiss, a tear in our eye, On the corner where we first met, we said goodbye, As I watch you, on the corner where we first met,
You don't see me, as I smile with no regret, Though there's pain, you're still on my mind, Standing on the corner, where you were mine,
Ch, Tag - to think it was by chance, and unlikely pair, in the rain we fell in love, On the Corner Square.

Distant Lights - Turned twenty one when I left home, Finally a man, set out on my own, I'd never seen much outside my home state, Out
to soak it all in, just there to take, Bouncing around from city to small town, Never feeling alone or getting down, Ch - Distant lights on
a far horizon, Can't seem to reach them but I keep on driving, Watching the world with the eyes of a kid, When I'm old and gray I'll rock
and smile at where I've been; The asphalt rainbow is my best friend, Still I call home every now and then, My mind at ease with the life I
led, Curiosity abounds at what lies ahead, Long lonely highways I drive and reflect, On the places I've been and the people I met, Ch,

In Love All Alone - The sky all around me, suddenly turned cold, A love that was still young, seems worn and old, I didn't see the coming
fall, Love ain't so easy after all, I believed down in my soul, we'd never part, I gave you all I could and all of my heart, But walls fell, dust
filled the air, This thing called love's not very fair, Ch - Looking back in time, thoughts of yesterday, The way we used to touch and
what we had to say, I hope that there's a chance, we can rebuild our home, Cause Lord it hurts to be in love all alone; I'm torn between
then and now, between love and pain, Back then it was so clear, now all so vague, You took my very best, I'm left now with only
emptiness, Ch - …You took my very best, I'm left now with only emptiness, Ch - Tag…Lord it hurts to be in love all alone.

Mansion on the Hill - I grew up in a place, where there wasn't much around, A few dirt roads, a bridge across the river into town,
Daddy worked hard up through the midnight hour, And built a home with sweat from his brow, Ch - Built upon some pilings with lumber
we could find, She weren't too much to look at but we passed a good time, Traveled 'round, here and there, no there never will, Be a
place that I call home 'cept that mansion on the hill; Leaving home was hard, but something all folks do, The things I miss, the trees, the
house, the sounds to name a few, Each time I'd return, I'd sit out on the front porch, Lay back and just enjoy the view, Ch; Just above
the river, the old house still resides, All our memories ingrain the walls inside, We come back twice a year, open up the front door,
Gather friends and bring her back to life, Ch, that Mansion on the Hill.

A Broken Man - A broken man sits softly weeping, On the corner of his bed, Lost his love his heart is shattered, Where to turn when
hope is dead, Outside the door, Coyote's howling, And the snow begins to fall, It's cold as hell inside his bedroom, It's even colder in his
soul, Ch - The wind blows strong against the cabin, Finds its way through every crack, It moans and howls out in the pinon, Crying love
ain't coming back, crying love ain't coming back; And now his eyes grow tired and weary, He hopes and prays that he might sleep, But
when his head's upon that pillow, It's only demons that he keeps, How can a heart become so shattered?, From a touch so warm and
sweet, Then love is gone and nothing matters, But life goes on and so does he, Ch, Br - As he rises in the morning, Starts to face
another day, He knows that time can be his ally, But time drags on in the face of pain, Tag - The days are long but the nights are longer
and time drags on, ….In the face of pain.

Tonight My Sleep Will Be Restless - Oh, the night's half passed to morning, neither sun nor moon do glow, And the black sky a canvas
on which the stars do show, While I await the dawning, the first dim light of day, My love she lies half sleeping, so near, so far away,
Many days have gone before us as we drifted through the years, We've spent our life together, shared laughter and shed tears, Now
miles have come between us, less distance more than time, How I long to feel you near me and mix your breath with mine; So I'll wait
here by the window, watch the sun rise in the east, And wonder if we might find some bridge where we might meet, Tonight my sleep
will be restless until you hold me near, And comfort find as only I have found with you my dear, Tag - Now miles have come between us,
less distance more than time, How I long to feel you near me and mix your breath with mine.

Black and White, Faded and Torn - Time has changed you, its not the same, When I am with you I feel strange, I've never known you,
quite this way, Just getting by day to day, Ch - Our love began with a song, Calm seas and weathered many storms, But like the photo
hangin' on the wall, Its black and white, faded and torn; All the time we spent seems so far away, And I no longer know the right words
to say, And we can't dwell on times gone by, I have to go and bid goodbye, Ch, Tag - Like the photo hangin' on the wall, it's black and
white, faded and torn…

Open Road - Step outside my door so the day starts, An old routine the drive gone from my heart, Lost love, no money, not much
pride, Only the road relieves my troubled life, Ch - Open road take me back in time, Another place a better frame of mind, Carefree
days with a stumble now and then, A memory's all I've got to see good times again; My troubles run so deep, I often ask why, So much
pain there is in my simple life, I leave it all behind, head out for a drive, My mind drifts away as the miles go by, Ch, Can't ponder old
times or younger days, Going back just can't be done they say, Still I've found a way to pass these hard times, An open road with an
open mind, Ch, Tag…a memory's all I've got to see good times again.

Emotion So Deep - Trouble all around me as the light of day dawns, Last night so lonely I kept the light on, Our conversation left you
heavy on my mind, Hours seemed like years, standing still in time, We face each other, and words begin to flow, And find that common
ground we have come to know, I can see you feel the same as I did all night long, It shows that we can heal, and let love grow on, Ch -
Emotions so deep, I won't let go, Your love completes my very soul, Through troubled times our course always holds true, For this I
remain in love with you; Along our journey, uncertainty weighs in, Sometimes it frightens us, we begin again, We confront our fears,
for they cannot hide, The warmth of this love, so bright it burns inside, Ch, Tag - For this I remain in love with you, Yes I remain in love
with you.

Higher Ground - This morning he saw the sun rise, A brand new day for all to see, The beauty of it filled his eyes, peace had finally
come to be, He could not bear to say farewell, So many years it plagued his mind, A battle fought and waged so well, But the shadows fell
upon his life, Ch - No more darkness in his life, Set free from his daily strife, No despair where he's bound, He's resting up on higher
ground; The news fell heavy on our hearts, Tears of grief were so strong, Our friend's gone now we're apart, I wish I could have said so
long, From higher ground came God's hand, The reasons why we can't explain, But he loved him so and softly said, No more sorrow, no
more pain, Ch, Bridge - In these times of great despair, Faith and love they still abound, The love in our hearts will always be there,
Until we meet on higher ground, …Rest in peace our dear friend, on higher ground.
